Did you know that if you hear a lie long enough, spoken over again and again with loud authority, that your brain cells begin to disconnect your brain’s ability to hear the truth? All you ever hear again is through a continuous background of static.

I’m writing this story today in 2023 while there is no Speaker in the House. About fifteen days now. The Republicans can’t find a replacement Speaker with qualifications that first acknowledges the truth that President Biden had won the 2020 election. Still, I ask myself, will we survive this state of being when the World needs us to be honest, to tell the truth, be faithful to our word, and lead as an example of real democracy?

The Federal government is without a helm among the Republican legislators. There’s been no legislation captained by a Republican to send supplies to Ukraine and now Israel. The Nation’s legislative branch has less than a month to submit and approve a budget for the government to run, even to pay existing interest on our bills. And the new Speaker thinks (pretends) the 2020 election was stolen. He supports a National anti-abortion bill. He wants a white Christian Nation. He thinks he is Moses–a white Moses.

Without a working legislation, we cannot move forward to assist our allies with funds to support Ukraine and now Israel. President Biden is courageously trying to keep the peace in the Middle East. Israel has a lot of enemies, with the United States as their major alliance. Israel is out for vengeance like their old testament God of revenge, with questionably little regard for human lives caught in their fire.

(We cannot support Israel, if innocent Palestinians are killed in the cross hairs of their retaliation. There is never a reason for an innocent to be caught in Israeli crossfire.)

About half of the Republicans still won’t admit that Trump did not win in 2020, that he is a traitor to our republic, that Trump tried to overthrow our elections and tried to force his will by leading the attack on the Capitol building. Did anyone mention the four indictments, the 91 crimes he has been charged with? Plus, he is a convicted sexual deviant. Ugh.

Does any thinking person still believe anything he says before the camera in front of a crowd? Does anyone doubt that Sydney Powell and Mark Meadows will spill their guts now that Powell has pleaded guilty of six counts to keep herself out of jail? Meadows got immunity to tell all. News broke today. I saw it on CNN.
